Dr Lal PathLabs is a renowned Diagnostic Services provider in India

Fever is the most common illness, which often occurs due to an infection. It leads to aching body and headache. The cause of fever depends on various factors like your age and physical condition. Many doctors even believe that fever acts like a defence against infections. However, it is important to understand what kind of fever one is suffering from to plan a treatment accordingly.  This can be determined by availing various diagnostic services in India wherein trained clinicians perform blood test and other required examinations to understand the main reason behind the rising body temperature.

Here are some of the commonly known fevers found:

Continuous Fever

In this, the temperature stays more than normal all day long and doesn’t show any fluctuation more than 1 degree Celsius. This fever develops in the patients of lobar pneumonia, urinary tract infection, infective endocarditis, typhoid, brucellosis and typhus to name a few.

Remittent Fever

During remittent fever the temperature stays more than normal all day long and doesn’t fluctuate more than 2 degree Celsius. This fever develops in the patients of typhoid and infective endocarditis. This considered as the most common fever diagnosed in humans.

Intermittent Fever

This fever stays only for some hours in the day. It is diagnosed in the patients of malaria, kala-azar, pyemia, septicaemia, etc.

Hectic or Septic Fever

In this temperature, the fluctuation between peak and nadir is too large and can exceed up to 5 degree Celsius. This fever develops in the patient of septicaemia.

Pel Ebstein Fever

This fever shows frequent alternation of high fever and normal body temperature. In some cases, the temperature takes days to rise and continues till 3 days.

Low Grade Fever

This fever shows temperature during the evening hours but doesn’t exceed 37.8 degree Celsius. Though it doesn’t happen in any particular disease, patients with tuberculosis show signs of this fever.

There are many diagnostic services in India that conduct some advanced tests to determine the kind of fever one is suffering with. Fever is though a normal disease, it can become life threatening too if ignored for a long time.
